The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University at College Station, https://www.tamu.edu/index.html, is seeking a Ph.D. student to join Dr. Chu’s biotechnology laboratory starting Fall 2026/Spring 2027. The projects will focus on biodegradation and degradation of PFAS and emerging contaminants, or biomining.
The ideal candidate must have a Master of Science degree in environmental engineering or environmental microbiology (or related field) with specific expertise in laboratory methods for microbiology, molecular biology, synthetic biology, or bioinformatics or modeling. Successful applicants will also demonstrate excellent writing and oral communication skill, interpersonal skills, and an ability to work independently and as part of a team. Applicants who are currently in the U.S. are highly encouraged to apply for Fall 2026.
