Position Description

The CEL-WE (Contaminants of Emerging Concern Lab for Water Environment) at Ewha Womans University (https://yeominyoon123.wixsite.com/mysite) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our research program in water treatment.

Our group conducts research on the removal of contaminants of emerging concern using membrane processes, advanced oxidation, and adsorption for water and wastewater treatment. The CEL-WE Lab is housed in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at Ewha Womans University, and our researchers have access to state-of-the-art on- and off-campus facilities (e.g., materials characterization and advanced imaging).

This position is supported by a research grant and may be renewed for up to three years, contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued funding.

Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Water treatment
  • Environmental/water science
  • Membrane processes
  • Advanced oxidation
  • Adsorption
  • Additional assets include experience in:
    • Nanomaterial characterization
    • Analytical chemistry
    • Colloid characterization techniques
  • The ideal candidate is highly motivated, passionate about environmental research, and eager to work in a diverse and collaborative environment. Strong communication skills and a demonstrated record of research achievement (e.g., publications) are essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research
  • Prepare manuscripts for submission to high-impact journals
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in research and manuscript preparation
  • Maintain and oversee selected laboratory instruments
