Position Description
The CEL-WE (Contaminants of Emerging Concern Lab for Water Environment) at Ewha Womans University (https://yeominyoon123.wixsite.com/mysite) is seeking highly motivated/fully-funded (three) Ph.D. graduate students to join our research program in water treatment.
Our group conducts research on the removal of contaminants of emerging concern (e.g., EDCs, PPCPs, and PFASs) using membrane processes, advanced oxidation, and adsorption for water and wastewater treatment. The CEL-WE Lab is housed in the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at Ewha Womans University, and our researchers have access to state-of-the-art on- and off-campus facilities (e.g., materials characterization and advanced imaging). Self-motivated candidates with a B.S. and M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, or a closely related field are particularly encouraged to apply. A master's degree with research experience is desirable but not required.
- Research experience in membranes, oxidation, adsorption, polymers, water chemistry, colloids and interfaces, or related areas is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are highly valued.
- The successful candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment.
Ewha Womans University is located in the heart of Seoul. Seoul is an exciting and safe global city, ideal for international graduate students. World-class universities, cutting-edge research environments, and strong industry connections create excellent academic and career opportunities. The city offers efficient public transportation, convenient 24/7 services, and relatively affordable, high-quality food and entertainment. K-culture is a major attraction: K-pop, K-dramas, and K-fashion shape global trends, while traditional palaces, temples, and markets showcase Korea’s long history. Students can enjoy festivals, street food, cafés, hiking, and riverside parks, all within easy reach. Living in Seoul allows you to experience both modern urban life and authentic Korean culture every day.
