Job Description

Dr. Kermanshahi (Dalhousie University) and Dr. Henderson (École de technologie supérieure, Université du Québec) are looking for Highly Qualified Personnel with interests in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Technoeconomic Analysis (TEA). The position is open to postdoctoral fellows, PhD and MASc students. The goal is to conduct life cycle assessment (LCA) and technoeconomic analysis (TEA) of sodium-ion (Na-ion) battery technology to identify the process hotspots and economic bottlenecks, as well as economic and environmental implication of recycling, taking a cradle-to-grave and cradle-to-cradle perspectives.

The research work includes the following activities:

  • Data analysis
  • Process modeling
  • Regular interaction with a research time and submission of high-quality reports
  • Drafting proposals and manuscripts

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related areas
  • Fluent in English; French is an asset

Skills and qualities

  • Critical analysis, curiosity, reliability •Proficiency with Aspen, OpenLCA / SimaPro, coding, and/or MS Office software tools
  • To be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Communication skills and the ability to present results to diverse audiences
