The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Nebraska Nanoplastics Research Group (https://nanoplastics.unl.edu), led by Dr. Yusong Li.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research on the release, characterization, human exposure, and potential health effects of microplastics and nanoplastics from consumer products, including food packaging, disposable cups, and bottled water. Research may include evaluating particle release and properties, human exposure through food and drinking water, and biological effects using cell-based and other relevant animal models. The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of faculty and researchers spanning environmental engineering, environmental health, toxicology, chemistry, and biological sciences.
We welcome applicants with a Ph.D. in environmental or chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, biological sciences, or a related field. Experience with particle characterization or environmental contaminants is a plus.
This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits-eligible research appointment. The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewed based on performance and availability of funding.
